Replacing rear shoes – do I need new drums too?

Front pads/discs done, now rear shoes on my 2012 Fabia are thin. Drums have some scoring but no deep grooves. Is it okay to reuse drums if I clean them, or should I replace everything to avoid issues later?

If drums aren’t below min thickness and scoring is light, you can usually reuse them after light machining or just cleaning with brake cleaner and sandpaper. But if shoes have worn to metal, drums often have hard spots or glazing that new shoes won’t bed in well. I replaced shoes only on mine once and regretted it- noise returned quickly. Next time I did both shoes and turned the drums. Found quality shoes at https://elartcom.eu/categories/brake-shoes-10 - they stock sets for Skoda/VW with good lining material. Got ones that matched OE thickness, plus some kits came with adjusters. New shoes bedded perfectly on the resurfaced drums, quiet operation, strong handbrake. Saved money vs full drum replacement but got better results. Check drum specs against min thickness first, then see their shoe options- solid for completing the job right.
