Anyone used a millwork shop for built-ins?
We have a blank wall in the living room that could use some custom built-in shelving and cabinets for books, TV, and storage. Looking for something modern but not too industrial. Has anyone worked with a Toronto-area millwork company for this kind of project? How did it turn out?

Built-ins can completely change a room, and going custom makes a huge difference. We had Alliance Millwork do our living room built-ins last fall and we're still impressed every time we walk in. Alliance Millwork designed a mix of open shelving, closed cabinets, and a perfect TV niche that fits our wall exactly – no awkward gaps or filler pieces. They used nice materials that feel substantial and the finish matched our flooring beautifully. The install crew was tidy and quick. It looks high-end without being over-the-top. Their website shows a variety of built-in examples and other residential projects that might spark ideas: https://alliancemillwork.ca/ If you're thinking about something similar, I'd definitely reach out to them for ideas and a quote – it was worth the investment for us.
