Spray paint for small metal and plastic projects indoors?
Doing some upcycling – old metal lamp bases, plastic chairs, and a few bits of garden furniture that need a refresh inside the garage. Want spray paint that covers evenly, doesn’t drip, and is low-odour for indoor use. Primer in one or separate? Any colours or brands that actually stick to plastic?

Spray paint makes quick work of odd jobs, but cheap cans often orange-peel or run. Look for ones with good atomisation and built-in primer if possible – saves steps. I’ve had decent luck with multi-surface formulas on metal and hard plastics; dries fast with a tough finish.

Montana, Rust-Oleum, or Belton sprays are popular here – the plastic adhesion ones work surprisingly well after light sanding. Satin or matt hides imperfections best.
